Incorporated in 2013 and founded by Dato’ Mohammad Hakim Low Bin Abdullah, Volksbahn Technologies Sdn Bhd is a company licensed under the Communications and Multimedia act 1998. VBT is focused on helping the public and private sector to generate extra income, improving operational efficiency and enhancing customer experience by leveraging on our technological innovations. VBT’s innovative and inclusive approach for the generation of extra income for a government owned entity caught the attention of several investors, technology companies and policy makers from the region.

In June of 2014, Salcon Bhd, a Main Board Listed company on Bursa Malaysia, made an investment into VBT to facilitate the expansion of our services from a consulting-centric approach to a more comprehensive managed service. This strategic initiative aimed to empower VBT with the capability to invest in and own essential technological infrastructure. 

In the same year, VBT ventured into a long-term collaboration and exclusive concession of Prasarana’s right of way (ROW) with Prasarana Integrated Development Sdn Bhd (PRIDE), a subsidiary under Prasarana Malaysia Berhad to generate non-fare income by strategizing and managing the commercialization of it’s rail and bus assets.

In doing so, VBT provides fibre optic infrastructure and network-based solutions that caters to demand of high traffic, high density commuter footpath along Prasarana Malaysia Berhad’s transit network, that being the Light Rail Transport (LRT), Monorail (MRL) and Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
